The North Face Caber Hybrid Pant - Men's information:

The North Face Caber Hybrid Pant mixes softshell and hardshell materials for a versatile alpine pant. It's the hybrid shell technology you've come to expect from the Caber line: Waterproof hardshell in the areas that come into contact with snow and wet, and breathable, air permeable softshell in key panels where you need to get moisture the heck out of town. Far from just a fabric trick, the Caber Pant is a tricked-out number, laden with thoughtful design. Elastic suspenders keep things from going south, and the brushed waistband won't bother you a bit, even if it rubs directly on skin midway into a tough ascent. Around the bottoms of the legs, ankle zips, gaiters, and VELCROŽ adjustable cuffs make them easy to get around all manner of boots. *Not Available for Shipment to Canada.

Reviews:

TNF's Caber Hybrid Pant
I worked as ski instructor last winter and found the Apex material to be absolutely wonderful. It provided just the right amount of ventilation to keep me from sweating. I also had some problems with the snap, it popped open a few times when I had to pick up kids after a fall. By the end of the season, I had also managed to put a couple of slices in the lower inside pant legs (due to ski edges, I would assume). Not a great thing, but as they are all below the gaiter it's not exactly the end of the world.

Breathability is awesome. But some detail is not so satisfactory
I tried these pants during my trip to Adirondack last winter. Their breathability was really awesome which keep me dry all the time and warm when I stopped cooking at night. However, the button on top of the fly kept opening all the time when I crouched down, which is really annoying. I have to mention I'm not that "strong" to have a big tummy at all. This turned out to be the reason I returned these pants. I think Mountain Hardwear does a much better job on this detail.

Great pant
This is an awesome pant! I wore my knee pads under these with my WindStopper pant and they were great for telemarking. The waterproofness is great and the features on this is awesome. I am not sure what the other 3 reviews were whining about, if your too big for your size you need to get a bigger size if your buttons are popping open. I did squats for 4 hours on the ski hill and the top button didn't come close to opening.

Waterproofness/breathability works fine, but something doesn't
I like the waterproofness/breathability of the Apex material. And the tailoring is also impressive. But the bottom at the end of the fly sucks. It keeps opening and I have to stop every so often to button-up on the trail. Really annoying. That's why I have to return it.
