The Guide Glove, Black Diamond's warmest glove, is the ultimate choice for climbing and skiing in cold regions like Alaska. Made with four-way stretch Schoeller and a Gore-Tex XCR liner, the Guide Glove is form fitting and totally waterproof. A full gauntlet and PrimaLoft insulation keep your hands warm when your water bottles are frozen solid. Because gloves take a beating in the mountains, Black Diamond gave the Guide Glove a Pittards goatskin leather palm and capped fingers with Kevlar-reinforced stitching. Not only does this add years to your glove's life, it also provides excellent grip on a frozen ice axe.

Overkill for some, but if you need them...
These are killer gloves, well designed, durable and fabulously comfortable and very warm, even at the finger tips and thumb. They are waterproof and also breathable, so I did not have clammy hands even when exerting myself walking up steep hills. If you spend a long time outdoors, especially in subzero and windy conditions, these are ideal gloves. Gauntlets are easy to adjust, even with one hand, and really work, without being in the way. The material also allows the right amount of friction in the grip.

Black Diamond Guide Glove is the Best
My cherished North Face snowboarding gloves (great gloves that I loved and that TNF repaired for free EVERY year) finally fell apart and couldn't be repaired. The BD Guide Glove was recommended to me by the BackcountryStore.com team. I was skeptical of any glove being better than my TNF. These are unquestionably better and possibly the best I've used. These are pegged as the best gloves for super-cold temperatures and aggressive riders. I was in Whistler for 9 days. Although it was about 25 degrees the whole time, my hands get cold in any temperature and these gloves passed that test. They were oven-warm all day, every day. Their durability was also phenomenal. I ride aggressively with a lot of deep carving and my hands are often used to keep my balance on those not-so-perfect carves. The gloves didn't show a bit of wear and truly lived up to the task. They were quite stiff out of the box but the leather loosened up quickly and these are like a second skin now. Dexterity is very good, but not excellent. There is more insulation than in my TNF gloves, but I think it's worth the tradeoff. I was definitely able to clip my safety strap and make boot adjustments with the gloves on. Pretty pricey set of skins, but assuming they last and assuming Black Diamond makes repairs when needed, the money was well spent.

Warm and durable gloves!
My digits stayed warm with temps in the single digits and winds gusting to 40+. For such a warm glove, the fit is very nicely and dexterity is good. Holding small things like zipper pulls and keys was quite easy. The palm is very durable. Snow/sleet/frozen rain never penetrated the Gore-Tex.

Superb Gloves
My hands and fingers get cold easily. These gloves are beautifully made and worth every penny. We have had extreme conditions back East this winter, and I have been warm on the very coldest days.
