There's a reason ALPS Mountaineering calls this thing the Denali Backpack—it's pretty frickin' huge. If you pack it correctly, you could take this pack into Denali National Park with your sleeping bag in the zippered bottom compartment, and your tent, layers, and bear canister in the top-loading main section. Stash a reservoir in the hydration pouch and a rain jacket in one of the two front pockets—because in AK, it's probably going to rain. But no worries—ALPS Mountaineering integrated a rain fly to keep year gear dry. Two-layer foam on the shoulder harness and a plush Hip Hugger waist belt help you carry a heavy load comfortably. The Denali adjusts quickly and easily to fit torsos between 17-23 inches.
