The 66 North Iceland Men's Sulur Fleece Jacket provides lava-like warmth—pure and simple. This technical fleece's thick, luxurious Polartec Thermal Pro fabric offers ample warmth for skiing, climbing, or activity requiring a warm midlayer. PowerStretch fabric on the sides and articulated elbows allow for great freedom of movement when reaching for the next hold or pole plant. The Sulur fleece jacket's two lower pockets warm up cold hands, while a zippered chest pocket keeps your iPod or cell phone secure and within easy reach. 66 North Iceland gave this fleece an elastic draw cord hem which allows you to seal out wind and snow when the weather deteriorates.

Returning the Jacket
When I read the review on this fleece jacket, I was immediately sold on it especially with the special sale price marking the jacket as low as it was. To cut a long story short, when I received the jacket, the feather weightlessness of it was amazing, but as I took it out of its wrapping and proceeded to try it on, first of all I was shocked the the zipper was located on the left instead of the usual American mens' being located on the right, but then when I put the jacket on it felt like a woman's jacket being very restrictive in the shoulders. I sent it back in exchange for a Mountain Hardwear fleece. Mountain Hardwear fits perfectly and is definitely fit for a man. This fleece is a bit more expensive, but here is a case where you truly get what you pay for.

Sulur is almost super
This fleece is definitely one of the most comfortable fleeces I have owned. The Euro cut is a bit narrow, especially through the midsection/waist area. However, at 5'8" 175 I'm pretty thick through the shoulders and chest and it fits comfortably. Light weight yet pretty warm...it won't do much for wind though. My only complaint and this may just be a one time thing but the stitching in mine has started coming undone in a few places. This should be a pretty quick fix but considering I have only had the jacket for a month it is disappointing. If I hadn't gotten it for $48 I would return it for another one. Oh and check out the 66 North website...I wonder if everyone in Iceland looks as tough as those people.
